Privacy notice

CW Weather ("we") runs cwweather.com, the premium North West England weather service linked to chorleyweather.com. This notice explains what personal data we hold about members and why.

What we collect

Your name, email address, a securely hashed version of your password, and your membership status (plan, renewal date). We also briefly record the IP address of failed log-in attempts to protect accounts from password guessing; these records are deleted after 24 hours.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by this site. Stripe's privacy policy is at https://stripe.com/gb/privacy.

Why we use it

To provide the membership you've signed up for (contract), to send you password-reset and account emails, and to keep the service secure (legitimate interests). We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time from your account page; payment records held by Stripe are kept as required by law.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
